The Basic Idea - Mythology

Everything has evolved in this fast growing world and so have the stories and myths around us that we have come across right from our childhood. Myths are the superstitious ideas , stories or concepts that are believed and have been carried on through out generations.

Different mythologies in world.
Mythology is basically a study of these myths and promotion of the same to make them consistent in this fast growing world.

Manu - The first man.

Mythology has no proof of existence or being true, it is just the belief of lay man on the stories tha the ancestors has perceived and carried away to them.

INDIAN MYTHOLOGY

Indian or Hindu mythology basically evolves around a hub of inter-woven or inter-locked small stories that have been written or carried away by granths (religious books) or common people respectively.

Its is cluster of so many stories that it is hard to find the star or end of this mythological period or span. It is said to be repetitive i.e it continues itself as a cycle. What has already happened will happen again as a cycle. Therefore , it is said to be ANANT (that has no end) .

Creation: Brahma

Nobody knows the beginning of these stories or creation of the same. Some say manu as the first man and some call Brahma, the creator. Some stories claim that Vishnu or Narayan is the creator or some of them give this credit to Shiva or Rudra.

TEACHINGS

In these cluster of stories , the basic idea is to convey the way of living in various situations and circumstances in common life.
Many Devi-Devtas in may of these stories take different forms or avatars (eg : Rudra Avtar) that symbolise the various reactions to various situations in a human being's life. They show the a peaceful and calm way of living life also.

Shiva : The Rudra form.
In Mythology , wether be Indian or not , the basic idea or teaching is to provide living styles to common people and help them tackle different problems or dilemmas in daily life.
